Bluetooth Hands-Free

Postby Carl » Wed Dec 05, 2007 4:34 am

You guys seem to have a pretty good handle on programming the Bluetooth facilities in the Treo platform. Any chance you could implement Bluetooth headset support that would be compatible with the Treo Voice Dialing program that Palm sells? For some reason, no one seems to be able to do Bluetooth headset support that is as functional as the wired headset / hands-free support.

Audio Gateway support A2DP output channels only, that is no microphone support yet. So headsets support microphones in SCO mode (Headset profile).
We are working on SCO profile support, but our developers have one very big obstacle that prevents us to support this profile.

Please read more on http://www.softick-forum.com/viewtopic.php?p=2451 . Our problems with mono headsets support have been detailed described there.

We develop speech recognition apps on Windows Mobile 6.x The speech engine resides on the device. We are having trouble sending and receiving audio input and output from our aplication over bluetooth headset. Bluetooth works fine for listening to music or for a phone conversation. But the audio output from our application does not go to bluetooth. However any system grenerated sound plays on the bluetooth headset. We use HTC HD2 device and Motorola H15 headset. It has headset profile and handsfree profile but not A2DP. HD2 has a Broadcom (widdcomm) BT stack. We have also tried with HTC's older WinMO 6.1 devices which have Microsofot BT stack. We believe we need to use SCO conection. However, like a music aplication, how do we achieve that the audio output from our application can go over bluetooth? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
