Postby bortiquai » Wed Oct 04, 2006 9:33 pm

I am trying the Bluetooth commander application for the Palm. In the product description i says it is capable of Wireless File Management over a bluetooth FTP connections.

Is the feature available in the demo version? If so, how do you iniate the bluetooth connection and transfer files to/from the Palm Device?

Thank you.

I have exactly the same question. How do I connect to a remote system using the Commander?

Do the following:
1). Start Softick Commander.
2). Tap on "Bluetooth Files". Remote device search process will be started.
3). You can press "Refresh" button to refresh bluetooth devices list. "Refresh" button looks like two blue arrows.
4). Next tap on remote device name. Connection with remote device will be established.
5). You will see remote device file list, if you remote device supports FTP bluetooth profile.

For copying files from your Palm to desktop do the following:
1. In some Commander window select "Storage Cards-> your card name" and folder with your files.
2. In another window open "bluetooth files->your device name" and choose target folder.
3. In first window select needed files by pressing on file icon, press 'Copy' from 'Clipboard' menu.
4. Go to second window and press 'Paste'.

Files copying will be started.

That's exactly what I needed. Thanks!

I just registered the application. Looks like it should do just what I need.

Same problem, but it still doesn't work

Postby colonelkernel » Fri Jan 19, 2007 10:24 pm

Hi, I'm 1/3 of the way into my trial and I'm having problems connecting my Treo 650 to my XP, Celeron-based computer at home.

A friend was able to get Bluetooth Commander to connect my Treo 650 to his Mac, so I know your software works.

At home, I can see my computer name in the Bluetooth Files section, but when I tap on it I get this message -

"Operation Failed

Attribute is not set for record
(0x311F)

in
BLUETOOTH_CONNECTION, BT_CONNECT"

I am able to HotSync with my computer and it is listed as one of the Trusted Devices in the Bluetooth Settings Pref panel. I've also been able to transfer a couple image files with a Windows utility.

So I know they're talking to each other, but it still isn't working.

More Tech Info -

Unlocked, Cingular Treo 650
Windows XP, Celeron computer
Zoom Bluetooth USB adaptor
w/Microsoft drivers (included Zoom drivers didn't work)

If I can get this to work at home, primarily, I am very likely to purchase the product.

Thanx,
Bill

Your desktop should support bluetooth FTP protocol (profile).
Unfortunately native Microsoft bluetooth desktop drivers don't support bluetooth FTP protocol.
So you have to install Widcomm or BlueSoleil desktop drivers for using BT-FTP profile.

I have downloaded the Commander into my phone and was able to find my other phone through bluetooth. When I tried to open files, it says that the Attribute is not set for record (0x311F) in bluetooth connection,BT_CONNECT. My other phone is a trusted device.
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you,

Your other phone should support bluetooth FTP protocol (profile).

If your other phone is Palm OS device, you need to use Softick Blue Files. This software is bluetooth FTP server and will allow you to send files between your phones.
